| As Dave said, we'll be heading up to Seaforth as well, holding a meeting with the group, before heading onto the beach to sail around 10.00am for a couple of hours then a social lunch. See you there! Darren.

- Sunday 31st May, will see C.Q.B.C. missing a few members from Bucasia Beach. We will be converting our karts from standard to shadows, hopping in our cars and heading to Seaforth Beach, to join a fairly large group of Camp Quality Kids and their minders for a a fun sailing- playing and BBQ morning/afternoon, The Moore's and Bianchi's I know are looking forward to this day, along with all the other helpers involved, will keep you posted on how it went.
Regards Old Fart HI ALL!! Report on how Camp Quality Kids and their minders sailing day at Seaforth Beach went today Sun 31st, arrived Seaforth 9.45am olong with our usual trusty band of helpers and set up karts on beach, winds where a bit low on arrival but soon came up with change of tide, a nice beach for venue and will certainly sail there again. If you have never seen terminal ill children smile you should have been there, both kids and minders had the best Blokart grins in central Qld, we had 10 karts on the beach for them, and every body had a go from the little ones to the mums and dads olong with a few locals. Camp Q!uality put on a lovely BBQ (WITH DESSERTS), had a jumping castle, sandcastle building, and ball games. To the C.Q.B.C. helpers, Ruth and myself would like to say thank you, to ARSA Mackay Joe & Mel thanks for your part in this event, the kids faces paid for the trip a thousand times, we departed the beach at 4.00pm happy little vegimites. | Ditto to Dave's comments. To get out and share our sport with others and to have them lining up for another go in the shadows, then for some to go solo, and their parents and helpers join in and kart with the kids, made it a very satisfying gathering. The wind started out light and increased with the ability of the newbies, ending quite fresh for some quick runs before we packed up. The beach currently runs smooth and flat, with a large area between high and low tide marks and a good long run to boot. Definitely worth another gathering when the tide and wind allows. Thanks also to the hospitality of Bernadette and Roy and the other supporters from Camp Quality, we will make ourselves available for their next Blokart outing. Happy karting, Darren. | |
